Wallpaper removal and wall repair
Wallpaper comes off in one of two ways. It peels in sheets with a steamer and a scraper, or the face comes off and the backing stays glued, and then it is a slow wet job. We find out in the first ten minutes and tell you which one you have.
Or call or text (443) 998-2738. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.
How the job goes
After the paper is off, the glue gets washed off with a solution and the walls get checked in raking light. Paper that was hung on unprimed drywall tears the face of the board, and those walls get a skim coat before paint. You get a painted room back, not a stripped one.
Jobs we take
- Vinyl and paper wallpaper, steamed and scraped
- Border strips over paint
- Glue removal and wall wash
- Skim coat on torn drywall
- Prime and two coats of paint
- Powder rooms, kitchens and whole floors
What it costs
Wallpaper removal is priced by the room after the first test strip, because the test tells us whether the paper is a half day or two days. The estimate lists stripping, wall repair and paint as separate lines. No finished wallpaper job is on the public price list yet, so the estimate carries the number.
What moves the price is on the wallpaper removal cost page.
Every job is done by a contractor licensed with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC). The license number is on your estimate.
